Halloween in New Haven ended up being postponed until this coming Wednesday due to the damage done by Hurricane Sandy. We were fortunate in that we didn't experience any and never lost our power. We are still praying for those who were not so lucky.
Carina has been obsessed with sharks ever since her Daddy introduced her to shark week at the beginning of the summer. No, we don't watch the gory shark attacks with her...just the benign educational documentaries. So, she wanted to be a shark {or, I wanted her to be a shark} for Halloween and I ordered her an adorable costume from Old Navy. Three days later I received an e-mail telling me that it was out of stock. With little time to figure out an alternative, my Mother-in-law volunteered to make her a costume.

She is in love with her costume. She runs around saying, "big one shark!" and "splash!" She wants to wear the hat all the time, too.
We decided to go with a sea creature theme when I spied this adorable seahorse baby bunting for just $15.
Unfortunately, Aurelia did not love her costume. She did settle down enough for us to head out for about 15 minutes of trick-or-treating with our friends in a neighboring town (their Halloween wasn't postponed).

SO happy to be out of her costume |
Also, is it common for parents to carry around a bag for themselves while trick-or-treating with their kids? Yeah, we saw that.
This week's Toddle Along Tuesday co-host is Stephanie from Moments That Take my Breath Away and the topic is Halloween! Can't wait to see your photos! There are no rules here, except that you link up a relevant post (old or new) rather than your whole blog (or business, #comeonnow).
Next week's topic is holiday wish lists for you! What does Momma want this year? I may or may not be stalking your lists for ideas for myself ;)
If you like advance notice for TAT, check out the bottom right of my blog - topics for the next couple months are listed. Would you like to submit a topic idea and/or volunteer to co-host one week? E-mail me!
