A number of months ago I shared with you that I was too scared to nurse Carina in public - ever. Instead, I would either cut my shopping trip short or retreat to a bathroom. If there was no chair in said restroom? I'd sit on a toilet and feel awful about myself for conforming to the {ridiculous} societal pressure to keep the simple act of feeding my child private.
I vowed to you that this time around I would grow a proverbial pair of balls.
Well? I'm proud to say that I have! So far I have nursed Aurelia in a number of public places, sometimes with a burp cloth over my shoulder and sometimes not. Also, instead of excusing myself and heading into another room to feed her when we have family over (like I did with Carina), I stay put and just feed her wherever I am.
What precipitated this change? To be blunt and honest, I just don't have the energy to care. I am so tired and frazzled and most of the time I am not only nursing Aurelia but watching Carina as well - there's just no way I can do both AND worry about whether or not those surrounding me might see a 1 second flash of nipple.
Your encouragement and support has really helped as well. Many of your comments on the aforementioned post convinced me I needed to get over this fear of mine. I'm so happy that I have; it's been freeing.
I've eliminated the need for covers much of the time by choosing tops/outfits that provide me with easy and discreet breastfeeding access (note: I certainly don't think that everyone needs to or should wear a cover or cover up somehow - this is just my personal comfort level). I'll be sharing a couple of my favorites with you over the course of the next few weeks! Here's the first - from émoi émoi.

Other nursing wear styles I love from émoi émoi include the pink long-sleeved nursing top, black 2 in 1 nursing turtle neck, and the navy blue nursing nightdress. And for when I get pregnant again in the future (haha not anytime soon!) I will likely drool over the maternity tops.
