L'Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Face Soap - Review

In October I posted about not feeling pretty anymore, post-baby. My hair was falling out (still is, ugh) and my face was a mess. <~~notice the past tense? :) Shortly after I composed this post I heard from L'Occitane, maker of fine beauty products. From facial care and makeup to fragrances, hair care, and even men's needs, L'Occitane uses natural active ingredients and is even invested in preserving their traditional cultivation methods.

I was sent L'Occitane's Shea Butter Ultra Rich Face Soap to try. As soon as I opened it I smiled; it has a lovely fresh scent. After a few weeks of using the Ultra Rich Face Soap it has become my new favorite. My skin has been smooth, well hydrated, and almost completely free from blemishes since I started using it.

Have you ever used face soap or wash that gets spread so thin as you are lathering your face to the point where you either must return to get more soap, or risk your face not feeling clean when finished? I often have this problem with my face wash. I am happy to report that the Shea Butter Ultra Rich Face Soap is so rich and creamy that this has not been a problem. My face feels clean and smooth when I am done washing it. No dryness, and no residue. I was going to post a photo of me with it all over my face, but I'm going to err on the side of you-probably-don't-want-to-see-that.

More information on this facial wonder:
Gentle enough for daily face cleansing, the Ultra Rich Face Soap is formulated with a soft vegetal cleansing base. The moisturizing soap is rich in Shea Butter (8%) and gently cleanses the skin without drying, respecting the skin's hydrolipidic film. It forms a creamy lather that will leave the skin feeling comfortable, soft and fresh.

I really admire the fact that the shea butter in the soap comes from fair trade exchanges with women's groups in Burkina Faso (a country in Africa), and the fact that L'Occitane's products are not tested on animals. Major bonus points for you, L'Occitane. At just $10 (or less!) for 3.5 oz, I think I've found my new forever face soap.

I received this item free of charge for review purposes. I was not compensated in any other way for this review. All opinions are honest, and my own. Your experience may vary.
