The sad truth about that post is that I was cooking dinner as I started writing it, and I had to shake my head at myself in disgust twice:
- I couldn't find the meat tenderizer so I had to flatten chicken breasts with a rolling pin. Don't try this...it isn't easy, and it doesn't work so well.
- About half way through the cook time for the chicken I glanced at the pan and wondered why the chicken along the outside of the pan didn't seem to be turning white. I had turned our expandable burner on the small setting instead of the large setting. Awesome.
So, in trying to make amends (with myself) for my further failures, here is an actual recipe of something that I make quite often that I have never messed up! It's that easy.
Cinnamon-Sugar Twists - Printable Version!
Ingredients:
1 can Pillsbury biscuits (the really cheap ones - I pay 2.19 for a 4-pack at my grocery store)
1/2 stick butter - melted
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
Stick your thumb through each biscuit to make a hole.
Pour sugar on a plate and add the cinnamon. Swirl it around until it is mixed. Feel free to add more cinnamon if you like it. Then take each biscuit and dip it in butter, and then coat it in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Before putting on a cookie sheet, twist the biscuit into a figure eight shape.
Bake at 450 degrees for 5-7 minutes. They are usually done in 5 minutes for me.
I may or may not eat 5 of these for breakfast whenever I make them...
