I have always loved taking pictures, but unfortunately I am not very good at it. My photos are usually blurry, have half a finger in front of the lens, and/or are overexposed. After we move in the Fall, we are a planning on getting a DSLR camera to give me a "kick in the pants" to learn how to actually take better pictures. I couldn't be more excited.
This week, to start psyching myself up I am entering
The Paper Mama's weekly photo challenge. This week's theme is black and white photos.
I think I like Carina better in color ;)
P.S. Care to recommend your DSLR?
8 words of geekdom:
Carina is such a cuuuutie! That photo challenge sounds like fun. Gonna check it out. :o)

I'm sorry...I just can't keep saying what a cutie she is! Oh my gosh! :)
She is just too cute! I have a canon Rebel and love it! So far I only shoot in automatic, but my photos come out great, well at least I think so, lol
I love my Canon T1i!!! Bit of an investment, but super easy to use. The only downside is if you want to use a lot of zoom, this won't do that. Like most higher end cameras, the person taking the picture needs to move, not the subject. =)
Canon Rebel user here :) I still don't completely get how to shoot in "manual" mode, but it's an awesome camera! Carina is such a cutie. :)
I bought an in-between point and shoot/SLR camera... the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35. It's an older-ish model, but I would possibly recommend using Consumer Reports (I didn't buy a copy, I just used the library) for help. I took a photo class which I definitely recommend if you can afford it / have the time. My teacher recommended the Nikon D3100.
Wish I was going to see you on Saturday! Oh well, when you and M move to New Haven, let me know -- we'll come visit :)
OMG - I am a picture taking junkie!! Sadly, our DSLR has been in the closet since we moved in February but I just said to DH it's about time to be diggin' it back out - thanks so much for posting that link ;^)
She is a cutie! In B&W or color. :)
