It's very hard to see, but it's there. This was the very first positive I ever saw on a pregnancy test. One year ago today. I say "first", because for the next few weeks of my pregnancy, I couldn't stop peeing on things. I must have taken more than 10 tests. And I may or may not have saved them all in a shoe box somewhere ;)
I woke up at my normal time to take my BBT (basal body temperature) and couldn't believe that it was still high at what I thought was 10 dpo (days post ovulation). I ran into the bathroom, clumsily peed in a cup, dipped a test and stared. Just...stared. After the longest 30 seconds of my life a faint pink line crept across the test.
I stared some more, in disbelief this time. I ran into the bedroom where M was still sleeping. I turned on the light and woke him up. I would like to tell you that I yelled "you're going to be a Daddy!" or "I'm pregnant!" or ::insert a clever way to announce a pregnancy here:: but no, I didn't...
I blurted out, "you don't have to get your sperm tested!" So eloquent. Since M works with some scary chemicals on a regular basis, an SA was next on our to-do list after 8 unsuccessful months. Fortunately, it never came to that. Why was it the first thing that popped into my swirling head? Maybe because that faint pink line meant that his poor little swimmers wouldn't have to be abandoned in a plastic coffin of dejection.
Fast forward to today, one year later. We cannot thank God and our lucky stars enough for our perfect little peanut. To think it all started with that faint pink line...

awww... so sweet. It is VERY crazy that everything just starts with a pink line... a bundle of cells just making themselves known... insane!!
